Masahiro Hara was inspired to invent the QR code by his love of board games, particularly the game Go. He was intrigued by the way black and white stones were arranged on the grid-like board and how easily the eye could distinguish patterns and positions. This visual structure gave him the idea to create a two-dimensional code that could be quickly scanned from any direction.
